What is NOISE Cancellation? How does it works?

Understanding NOISE
Before understanding what is NOISE Cancellation, let us understand about NOISE first.
NOISE is defined as the the sound which is useless.Means that if i am talking to you and outside it is raining then the sound of rain outside is NOISE, if we are talking in market then the sound behind us is NOISE ,if we are talking in the room then the sound of the fan is NOISE, then this type of voice or sound which is useless to us is NOISE.

Benefits of NOISE Cancellation?
Now let us understand the benefits of NOISE Cancellation that is present in our phones and headphones.
Earlier when there was no NOISE Cancellation technology, people were unable to hear clear voice because of heavy NOISE in the background. But nowadays from this technology we can hear clear voice of  everyone and the NOISE will be cancelled because of NOISE Cancellation mic present in our phone. Every phone with NOISE Cancellation technology, have two mics, one mic is the microphone and the other mic was of NOISE Cancellation.

If you are traveling in a bus ,train, or in airplane, if you are listening music with the earphones that do no have NOISE Cancellation, you will hear the unwanted sound which is of the engine or nearby passengers,or anything else, you will not get the best sound experience. And if you are listening music with the headphones which supports NOISE Cancellation then your experience will be good without having unwanted background sound.

How Does NOISE Cancellation Works?
As we all know that sound travel in waves. Then suppose that:-

So, for NOISE Cancellation , mobile phone use two microphones, one mic that is main microphone,is at the bottom of the mobile phone that will record our voice good but also records some noise. The second mic that is NOISE Cancellation microphone,is situated at the top of the phone or at backside of the phone near camera, this second mic records NOISE very well but it does not records our voice.

So, for cancelling the NOISE, we have to subtract the voice of noise cancellation mic from the voice of main mic.
